Discovered
in 1898, Sir William Ramsay and Morris W. Travers discovered
a new element called Neon. After having previously discovering
the element krypton, neon and it made its way to the periodical
table two months after. Ramsay's and Traver's also discovered
the element xenon not long after that. It's name neon comes
from the greek word neos, which stands for new.
Neon was obtained from liquid air, or in other words, gas.
Neon
didn't have any uses until 1910, when George Claude experimented
with the effects of passing an electrical discharge through
namely neon gas. Neon signs were then invented due to their
glow and made it's way to the advertising industry. To learn
